Employment & Training
While unemployment affects everyone, employment for those with complex disabilities currently stands at 1 in 10. The barriers to employment for disadvantaged people, including barriers that are only based on assumptions, can be overwhelming and grow worse with long-term exposure to unemployment.
Our employment and development programme provides a stepping stone to mainstream employment. We provide workplace and employability training to give individuals the skills and confidence to compete in the open employment market. We do this through the Government’s Work Choice programme and working in partnership with Seetec – one of the UK’s largest and most experienced employment, training and job search support specialists.
CLARITY produces personal care and cleaning products from our factory and offices based in East London. The job roles available through the Work Choice programme range from manual labour roles in the factory through to marketing roles working with the senior leadership team.
- Factory floor roles are production-line based and range from working in the lab to create and test products, feeding containers onto the conveyor, labelling bottles, quality testing, to manufacturing soap.
- Bulk manufacturing roles involve mixing and preparing the ingredients for our products, and working closely with the technical team to develop products for manufacture.
- Warehouse roles can involve driving a fork lift or shrink wrapping pallets.
We are a founding member of the Supported Business Alliance that champions disability employment and the vital role of Supported Businesses in the UK. A Supported Business is an organisation where more than 50% of the workers are disabled persons.
We are an active member of the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) and work closely with the network to develop our employment opportunities and training.
